Buffalo River adventure

Image
5/12/23 On Friday we embarked on our short adventurous journey, to the Buffalo river in the northern part of Arkansas. After driving for a few hours we arrived to the area. We crossed a beautiful creek and had only a couple of minutes left to go until we arrive. However, an unfortunate event occurred. We drove over a few not so big rocks and the car suddenly stopped working. Thankfully, we were really close to our destination so we could just walk over to our lodging. We stayed in a beautiful forest cottage with a hot tub outside. We went there as a big group of 3 families so each family stayed in their own cottage. Ours was named  "the Farmhouse", the interior was decorated in the same theme. The first evening me and all the kids played some poker and blackjack and we also checked out the jacuzzi. 5/13/23 This was the big day. We had breakfast and left around 10 am. The drive was around 1 hour and 15 minutes long. On the way there we saw the beautiful Ozark mountain range,

My first out of two Belo USA trips was the tour of New York City, Philadelphia and Washington DC. It was scheduled for 22-29th April. The beginning of this trip turned out to be a little adventure by itself. 4/22/23 My flight was supposed to leave at around 11 am from the Memphis airport. So we left Wynne the day before and slept at a condo in Memphis. In the morning Neall dropped me off at the airport and I was at the gate in time. After some time I got a weird notification so I checked the app of the airline and noticed a weird message. It said that the flight is cancelled due to weather conditions. I was the first one to notice the message our of all the people waiting there so I asked them if they see it too and unfortunately they got the same message as I did. We waited at the gate for some time and waited for the travel agent to arrive to see what we should do. After like 30 minutes the lady arrived so a hoard of people started talking to her including this old couple from Edinbu

Tornado

During your exchange many unpredictable things happen, however I believe nobody expected this not even the people permanently living in Wynne, Arkansas. There were some tornadoes that hit in Northeastern AR in the past and did some serious damage. However, this intensity has never been seen here before.  3/31/23 During the whole day there was a tornado watch, this has happened many times before. It means that the weather is prone to create tornadoes and other extreme weather situations. Later in the afternoon we saw that there were some tornadoes that hit Little Rock, the capital of Arkansas located to the southwest of Wynne. Meteorologists predicted the route of the tornado to possibly hit our town. The first estimate of victims in Little Rock was around 100, "thankfully" just one life was lost there. Around 4:15 pm we received a tornado warning. This was a new thing for me, I've never seen it before. After 5 minutes our phones started beeping super loud and everyone rec

This Christmas me and my host siblings received a strange gift, each of us got a few pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. When we put them together and turned it upside down there was a message, DISNEYWORLD SPRING BREAK.  3/19/23 We were really excited because they weren't there for quite a while and I haven't been there at all! Time passed by quickly as it always has on my exchange and bam! it is already spring. We decided to drive there and after packing all of our stuff we embarked on our journey. We left late and drove all through the night. The total time it took us was around 13 hours so of course it was a very difficult drive, however after getting there in the afternoon we were very excited to see the resort we stayed in. It was beautiful, there was a pool with a jacuzzi right by it, plenty of restaurants and a gorgeous lake. We went to sleep early so we would be ready for the next day. After waking up around 7 a.m. we walked to the shuttle bus that took us to the first of the ma
